		<description>I know what you mean, but if you accept that some managers are necessary, surely the ones who have a first-hand knowledge of the shop floor are better than the theoreticians out of business school.  And rehousing a tired teacher in a management post spares his bored pupils too. (I&#039;m still teaching by the way!)</description>
