The schooling system in this country is not perfect and never will be, but Teach First is providing teachers where there are none. Many of the poorest performing state schools receive zero applicants for any science teaching vacancies, and many are staffed entirely by supply staff. Teach First is filling these vacancies that would otherwise be empty. These teachers may be inexperienced but they are incredibly committed, and 50% stay for more than two years.
They are filling vacancies long term and providing quality teachers to schools that would otherwise be lacking.
