There are many very interesting elements to the Finnish model. The current UK government are looking closely at ideas from Finland but it is not possible to inport a systems from a very different culture. Finland is one of my favourite holiday destinations and the differences bewteen it and the UK are striking. There is a stronger work ethic and education is valued highly. The schools, in contrast to England are much less formal places where individuals are valued for their differences. It would be difficult to replicate the same ideals in my country where our capital city has a signifcantly higher population than Finland as a whole. keithpullen-education.blogspot.com/
