A Bit Like Wearing A Stethoscope
Free Schools, In The News Tuesday, February 8th, 2011Great line from the Manchester ‘anti-extremism Tsar’ Ian Fenn when asked how he felt about ‘free’ schools.
He remarked to the BBC: “It’s a bit like me saying I’m going to start up a hospital because I fancy wearing a stethoscope – it’s ludicrous.”
He went on to say: “They don’t have to employ real teachers. They’re not bound by the national curriculum and it’s an affront to the teaching profession for people to think that schools can be run by people [such as journos Gove and Young] who know nothing about it.”
Won’t be long before he’s off Tory patronage lists but doesn’t look like he cares.
